Basic and Advanced  Training

Jerry Horton Infantry Training Vietnam
SSG Garrett taught us that this was for real. It was not a game.
Jerry Horton Field Training Infantry Vietnam
We learned how our home would be on the ground, somewhere nowhere in the Jungle.

We never really understood what was happening, we were swept along with it. Our lives would always be changed. We were learning to be warriors and never realizing that whatever they told us , whatever we learned it would be worse in combat. Even if we knew , what could have we done different? The Army knew what they were doing, turning us from boys to men. I am thankful that Sergeant Garrett helped us through our change, I'll never forget him, someone that I will always respect forever.
